HEALTH MINISTRY NEWS

Things are indeed happening in our ministry and in our congregation.  Several people have let me know that they would like to participate in our activities and ideas for the future.  Of particular interest is our plans for a PARISH NURSE.  If you have any ideas or contacts, PLEASE contact me.

HEALTH SCREENINGS are off and running.  Blood sugar testing and blood pressure testing happen after both services about once a month.  An important note: Screening identifies folks who don’t know they have a problem, so don’t be afraid to have a check.

Big news about our HEALING SERVICE and SPIRITUALITY and HEALING TALK, coming up WEDNESDAY, JUNE 4, 2008.  We will begin with a buffet ham supper during which I will give a talk on healing and then follow in the sanctuary with a special healing service.  We plan special music, prayer, message, AND our youth group will participate with a special presentation.  We are inviting our general community so be sure to tell others and extend a special invitation.

This service and supper are in honor of Rosalee Abernathy who passed away in March of 2007 and who was such a support for this ministry.  Her husband Ray and sons Jonathan and David are lending financial support to both our ministry and this event.  We are grateful to them.

Remember who our ultimate physician is and His power to heal.

To health in mind, body and spirit,

Karen A. Van Zino, M.D.

Health Ministry News: Upcoming talks planned include Depression, Diet and Diabetes, and What to do About Chest Pain.

Karen asks that any questions and/or suggestions be dropped in the bright blue folder tacked to the bulleting board in the church’s Welcome Center.
