Pastor James W. Brun, Associate Pastor, Faith Lutheran Church

 

Pastor James W. Brun

Jim Brun was born in Long Beach, California. He grew up in Wilmington, California and is a graduate of Banning High School. In high school Jim was very active in the local Luther League, and began to seek where the Lord might be leading him to do with his life.  He is a 1973 graduate of Concordia College—a small liberal arts college in Moorhead, Minnesota. He majored in pre-medical studies and religion. From there Jim went to Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, Iowa, graduating in 1977 with a Master of Divinity degree. He has served the church as a Pastor in four congregations:

  • Zion Lutheran Church in Atalissa, Iowa from 1977-1980.

  • Trinity Lutheran Church in San Gabriel, California from 1980-1984

  • Calvary Lutheran Church in Millbrae, California from 1985-2003

  • Faith Lutheran Church of Castro Valley, California since March 2003.

Pastor Jim is married to Cheryl Brun.  He is the father of two adult children: Anne Rempel and Marissa Brun. Pastor Jim and Cheryl live in Hayward.

It is a joy and a privilege to serve here at Faith Lutheran as a member of the Pastoral Team with Pastor Dan Severson.  Our mission is to make Christ known to all people and grow people in faith and discipleship to be faithful followers of Jesus.
