Food Pantry Outreach at Faith Lutheran Church

Food Pantry activity at Thanksgiving

Feeding people for over 15 years

Preparing for Thanksgiving, 2005

Our Food Pantry recently received a grant from Wells Fargo Bank.  The number of people fed through the Emergency Food Box distribution program has doubled in the past year. The grant money will be used to add shelving to our distribution area and improve the work area to help volunteers meet the increasing number of requests for food each week.  So far in 2007 we fed an average of 53 people a week with the Emergency Food Box program.

Thanks to Wells Fargo Bank we are able to improve the Food Pantry facility and meet the increasing demand for food each week.

Mission:

We are an emergency food source for low-income families or individuals. Referrals are accepted from agencies, churches and community groups helping people with emergency needs.  The referrals are directed to the Faith Lutheran Church Office.

We provide non-perishable food for 2 days.  Individuals or agencies may pick up the box of food at the Food Pantry.  A family or individual may receive food once every 3 months, or 4 times in a 12-month period, excluding the annual Thanksgiving food basket giveaway.  Agencies can provide up to 10 names each week.
