Finnish Article On FLC

Last Fall, a Finnish journalist who was visiting Castro Valley along with a friend, joined us for worship on two Sundays, and a Wednesday evening for activities. She was interested in writing an article of Lutheran churches in America.  Her article was published in January.  Pastor LaVinnia Pierson was interviewed for the article.  Please click here to view the article (and translation).

Learn More About Our
Food Pantry Outreach Program at Faith Lutheran

Our Food Pantry recently received a grant from Wells Fargo Bank.  The number of people fed through the Emergency Food Box distribution program has doubled in the past year. The grant money will be used to add shelving to our distribution area and improve the work area to help volunteers meet the increasing number of requests for food each week.  In 2009 we fed over 13,000 people and distributed more than 65,000 pounds of food through the Emergency Food Box program.

Thanks to Wells Fargo Bank we are able to improve the Food Pantry facility and meet the increasing demand for food each week.

Our Mission Statement:

Faith Lutheran Church is a community of faith, centered in the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to share the message of God's love with one another, our community, and the world.
